We are showing you how to use the stopover provision on a $507 Newark to Stockholm fare to go to Amsterdam instead. This does require an overnight on the return in Stockholm — you can extend it out more if you want, though. The fare from Newark to Amsterdam for the same travel period is $1,042, so even with the overnight requirement in Stockholm on the return, you are still saving a few hundred dollars.
Other stopover points that we know that exist include Munich, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Oslo. Read our stopover guide below and play around with it — remember it’s trial and error.
And no, this does not meet our 6 cents per mile criterion. Just something different on a slowish deal day from New York (it was either this or deals to Caribbean with long layovers in Miami).

Can you post the codes to just go to stockholm?
@Jacob – on the advanced routing code – just use ua on both outbound and return to see only the nonstop. the date range for availability is the same. for more availability with connections, use ua+
I’ve tried several times to search for this fare on matrix with no luck, using Dec. 1-10th as the dates. What am I doing wrong?
@kelly – looks all the avail for Dec are gone. still avail for November, Jan, Feb and March travel.
