JetBlue is running a 30% off promotion for award redemptions with its points program, TrueBlue. The promotion is good for travel between May 2nd and June 26th, 2013 but you must book by April 26th.
JetBlue points are normally valued at about 1.3 cents per point so, for a $300 ticket, you need about 23,000 TrueBlue points. With this promotion, the points are worth about 1.7 cents per point. Here’s an example of the value of this promotion – a booking from New York to San Francisco. The lowest priced ticket for the sample travel date is $453.
It requires 26,500 TrueBlue points with this promotion which places the value at about 1.7 cents per point.
We’re not normally fans of airline programs that have a cap on the value of each point. But if you have some JetBlue points lying around, a 30% discount makes it slightly better than before. You need a minimum of 5,000 TruePoints points before you can redeem. If you are short a few and have American Express Membership Rewards points, you can transfer them.
For more information about this promotion, go to JetBlue’s Stop Dreaming, Start Redeeming page.
