Azul Brazil (started by JetBlue’s founder) is launching service between Brazil and the United States. As a special promotion, for the month of December, it is running one-way specials between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Sao Paulo (VCP) at a very good price of about $165 USD in coach and about $480 in business. The return is significantly more expensive (so use miles on the return if you going to take advantage of this)
Update 11/5/2014 @ 5:45PM Eastern – it’s actually pretty much everywhere in Brazil. Rio priced around the same. See screenshot below.
Update 11/6/2014 @ 7:25AM Eastern – we forgot the taxes yesterday. It isn’t $165 / $480. With taxes, its about $193 / $510.

These can only be found on Azul’s Brazil website. You have to do it in Portuguese. If you switch the site to English, it will not let you book international flights. Remember to select “Somente Ida” for one-way.

Things to remember:
- You are buying from a foreign website — so use a no foreign transaction fee credit card to buy
- It is only for one-way, so if you don’t have miles — getting back will likely be expensive
- It is a great way to take advantage of your miles from Brazil (Brazil by law does not allow for fuel surcharges, so if you redeem British Airways from Brazil for example to Europe, you don’t have to pay fuel surcharges)
- VCP airport is a bit out from Sao Paulo.
Happy hunting.

Great deal, and this might be splitting hairs, but they do add 93 reals in taxes to that number. Still extremely cheap.
@Nick – thanks. we should go thru the whole transaction process… sub-$200 one-way is extremely cheap and great way to position for ex-Brazil award tickets.
Nothing interesting for this in January?
@Howtofreetravel – only in December.
