We are not big fans of jetBlue despite it being New York’s real hometown carrier. We don’t use them because their points have a fixed value at about 1.3 cents per point and it doesn’t really have an expansive international network that takes us to aspirational locations.
But sometimes it does have really good sales to domestic destinations that we do visit. While jetBlue is searchable on our favorite airfare search tool, Matrix by ITA Software, jetBlue does not load all of its fares on ITA. The best sale fares are actually on jetblue.com.
The Default jetBlue Search is Not What You Want to Use
If you land on jetblue.com and you use the default search box, you will spend extra time searching for the best fares.
Let’s search for a fare from JFK to Los Angeles (LAX), a route that we frequently fly. If we just plug in a date on the default search box, it will result in this:
It just shows fares for the previous and next 3 days. If you want to see more dates, you have to scroll previous or next. Since our leisure travel is mostly flexible, it can be a lot of scrolling. A better solution is something that jetBlue has on its site that is often missed by most users – Best Fare Finder.
jetBlue Best Fare Finder – it’s like Matrix by ITA on jetBlue.
Under the Plan a Trip tab on jetBlue is the Best Fare Finder feature. As most people do not click deep from the homepage, it is a feature that most people will miss. But when we search for jetBlue fares, this is the one we use.
Clicking on the Best Fare Finder, you will be able to see fares for the entire month, saving you time and helping you hunt down the best jetBlue fares.
We wish more carriers would introduce a monthly calendar view of fares. It would certainly make fare searching a lot easier.

Cool tip. Never knew that existed.
Wish Southwest would have an easier to navigate website as well, considering they load none of their fares into ITA…
@Phil – Southwest is not really customer friendly when it comes to searching, comparing and buying fares.
