AA.com has not officially confirmed it, but we just made a dummy business class award booking for a flight from New York to Helsinki, Finland on AA.com and inventory on our quick check looks very good.
We are very excited about this because:
- More options are always good
- Finnair and Air Berlin does not charge ridiculous fuel surcharges when you use AA miles. This is huge. If you use AA miles to book British Airways flights, the fuel surcharges are almost as much as the coach ticket.
- Save $25 booking fee if you are not an American Airlines Executive Platinum member
We recently flew on Finnair from New York to Rome and Milan. The inflight experience was good, though we wish they had a better shower in their Helsinki lounge. With the inclusion of Finnair and Air Berlin, you can now book 6 of American Airline’s partners online — British Airways, Alaska Airlines, Qantas, Hawaiian, Finnair and Air Berlin. Now if AA would only put Cathay Pacific, JAL and LAN in there, we would be really happy.
(Thanks to NDFan on Flyertalk for the find)
