Earlier today, JetSetCD from Jaunted tweeted that WOW Air was finally launching service from Iceland to the US. The launch meant really good deals — the problem was at least for us was their European site didn’t really have much left by the time we looked.
Their US site went live as a few minutes ago (LITERALLY!) and we manage to find some fares at $99 and $125.
Update 10/24/2014 @ 1:00PM Eastern – while there still might be availability at these prices, the likelihood is that they are gone. So congrats to all those who got the promo fares.
Here’s what you need to know:
- WOW Air is a low cost carrier — meaning everything is un-bundle. You will pay for everything from seat assignments to luggage
- Service is from Boston and Baltimore (they are calling it Washington D.C., but Baltimore is not DC)
- These fares are good to:
- London – Gatwick [LGW]
- Copenhagen [CPH]
- Reykjavik [KEF]
- Availability:
- Boston: They are available from end of March – June, 2015 from Boston. You can always check after those dates to see what pricing is like.
- Baltimore: Service starts in June, 2015.
- They do not earn miles
- There is no easy way to search for availability — they have only +/- 1 day search. So it will be a hunt.
- Availability is not that great — so just play around. Definitely factor in the full cost of things like luggage etc.
- And per WOW Air’s twitter – they support DOT’s 24 hour risk free cancellation policy. If you need to call them, their US call center is (+1) 866 5128364 or email them with URGENT in subject to [email protected]
- Here’s a rundown of all potential extra fees by Jaunted
How to Book:
- Go to WOW Air and play with the dates. There is no easy search function.

Don’t see any flights from BWI until June. Is that when they are starting service?
@James – yes. post updated.
i see rt from washington dc to london for $195 one-way. no $99 or 150
website is getting hammered lol
“Baltimore (they are calling it Washington D.C., but Baltimore is not DC)”
Baltimore is not DC = Q.E.D.
However, BWI is not in really in Baltimore (even though it has “Baltimore” mailing addresses, it’s in Linthicum- not even Baltimore County). The “W” in BWI is stands for Washington. BWI is the same travel time from downtown DC as IAD.
So what’s your point?
this deal is dead.. for now
How is it dead? I just booked tickets for October 2015 about 5 minutes ago.
